Casinos in San Diego - When will they close?

I just called Viejas and got their standard voicemail about press 1 for this and 2 for that - nothing about them being closed. I didn't want to wait on hold.
Anyone know if / when they will be shutting down?
Not that I want to go to the casinos, but because I'm worried that many gamblers are high-risk seniors and they could be getting exposed if the casinos remain open, because they're not subject to State mandates, or whatever... right?
Thoughts?

Live poker stories?

I've been missing live poker so I thought we could share some stories.
About 4 years ago at a casino in San Diego I sat down at what seemed like a friendly 1/2 table. I've only been playing off and on for about 3-4 months at this point and I was still very new to the game as you'll be able to tell soon. Casino was very small it only had about 8 or so tables. I managed to build a $200 stack to $500 after some lucky get there's and a few horrendous bluffs that somehow worked. After about 3 hours I decided it was time to rack up my win when I look down at pocket aces UTG...
I open to $25(lol) this middle aged Muslim guy who I took maybe 3 ~$50 pots from stares me down for a solid minute and makes the call one other player comes along who has been having a rough night was down maybe $500 or so makes a sigh call.
Three ways to a flop of J 8 3 rainbow. I bet $100 (lol) I was really bad at bet sizes back then old Muslim guy insta jams for $300 and the guy behind insta jams for less. I didn't think for too long before making the call thinking "he has KJ or QQ" (again lol). Before the turn is even dealt Muslim guy slams pocket jacks on the table and screams at me "ACES NO GOOD MOTHER FUCKER" I had yet to turn my cards over so the "soul read" was enough to put me in shock for a bit and not realize what had happened until the uber ride back to the hotel. Other guy in the hand furiously slams down pocket 8's and starts berating the dealer staring him down as if the dealer just came to his house and crippled his dog with the nastiest suplex wrestling has ever seen. The entire casino is quite at this point everyone looking at our table you couldn't even hear chip shuffling which was so common 5 minutes earlier, just these two guys going at it. I was genuinely scared for the dealer I thought pocket 8's guy was going to jump over the table and punch him. He kept yelling "you've been dealing me shit like this all night!!" Floor was called over Muslim guy had to step outside for a while pocket 8's guy was asked to leave. I got up to leave about 15 minutes later taking the loss like a champion thinking to myself "this is what it takes to be a pro, take the loses in stride" (lol). All the positive things I kept telling myself instantly went away as I walk out and see old Muslim guy just smiling at me asking if I was leaving. Moral of the story fold pre when you're racking up.

Fold bottom set on flop?

Playing at Sycuan Casino in San Diego. One hour into session my $300 buy in is $800, so the effective stack is around $800. Mostly drunk recreational players and 2 decent players with all the money on my immediate right.
Pre-flop action: Loose rec opens UTG to $15. First deep stacked decent player (around $1,000) bumps it to $50. Second deep stacked player, Cut off, calls (he's around $1,800) hero, on the button looks down at 3s3h. Hero calls, UTG opener calls. Roughly $200 pot.
Flop: 7C 6C 3D
UTG donk leads $75. Pre flop 3 bettor makes it $300. Cut-off over jams remaining $1,800.
My thoughts: UTG I assume has some middling decent pair, perhaps 88-JJ. Pre-flop 3 bettor definitely has AA or KK. But the cut-off, and I have very little to go on, seems like a really good player. Maybe he wouldn't over jam this spot with an overpair, two pair OR flush draw. Somehow I convince myself that IF he would jam something like Ac5c or 6x7x I have to call with bottom set?
Well, long story short, I tank a bit and call off my stack. UTG folds, guy with obviously aces nearly committed himself on flop raise so be calls with AA. Cut off flips 7d7h and I get stacked.
Could any of you find a fold here with the action that proceeded my call?
On a happy note I ran my second buy in up to $1,300 so it wasn't all doom and gloom.
-Cheers

Embarassing case of a misread hand

I'm playing 2/3 NL at Lucky Lady Casino in San Diego in this hand, and it's nearing the 2am closing time for this small card room. Folds to me, I'm in the hijack and look down at 4c3c and make a loose raise to $15. Folds to villain in BB who defends and we see a flop of Kd7d2h. He checks, I continue for $20, he calls. Turn comes the 5s. He checks to me, and for some reason I start to think, "Well, I just turned a pair, so I have some showdown value against his somewhat likely flush draw, so I'll check back looking to make an exploitative call on brick rivers." (knowing the villain was prone to making river bluffs with aimissed draws with an abnormally high frequency).
The only problem with this line of thinking is that the 5 didn't pair me up. At this point in the hand I thought I had 5c4c instead of the 4c3c that I actually held; this is probably due to the fact that I was tired/my brain decided to remember my hand like this: "the smallest suited connector I would open in any position" which is normally 54.
Either way, we see a river heads-up of an offsuit 2. Im thinking, "Perfect card for my hand against this specific opponent. No over card to my pair, no diamond. I'm calling almost any bet." So then he overbets the pot, $100 into about $70, which I had seen him do twice already with bluffs this session. So without thinking too long as I had basically already made up my mind on the turn given a river like this, I called. Knowing he had been caught bluffing, he motioned as if he was ready to muck his hand, waiting for me to open my hand as a formality. So of course I was delighted to show my hand, happy to show the table that I correctly called a $100 overbet on the river with 3rd pair. So I table my hand confidently. Then I hear the dealer announce "4 high". The whole table looks at me, astonished that I had called with the nut low. Laughing loudly, the villain tables the winner, Ac8c, for the missed flush draw/turned A8-high accidental successful value bet. The only thing I could do is join in laughter with the table and explain that I thought I had a pair. The only positive I can take away from this hand is that I had the right read on my opponent, despite catastrophically misreading my hand.

Best Casino in the SD Area?

Hello!
I saw this post from a year ago, this listicle from the san diego tribune, and this yelp post from 2012. But, I was hoping for more current information!
I have family coming in town next weekend and I was interested in taking them to a casino. None of us are serious poker players, and none of us smoke. Since it'd be a day trip, hotels wouldn't be necessary. Which would be the best casino for a day trip with shopping, eating, and gambling? If the casino has live music or shows, that'd be cool too

super fast stickman -- speedcraps, bad dealer, bad player?

Hi all!
I was playing at Viejas Casino in San Diego. Great rules, but that's for another time.
I was at a table with one other player, and he was losing big time. Kept buying in for $500 every few rolls. For me, the table started choppy, and then started to get cold, so I decided to switch to Don't for awhile until the table warmed up again.
I placed my Don't bet and the loser started rolling. First thing I noticed was that he tapped against the mirror before shooting. Oh well, the dealers didn't say anything. Then, the point got established, and I was figuring out what I had to lay when the stickman grabbed the dice and yelled "dice out", passed to the shooter and he threw immediately.
Huh, that sucked. So I wait until the dice land before laying my bet, and the stickman does it again. Really fast. The dice barely have stopped rolling before she is scooping them up and passing them to the loser. I couldn't even heel the lay it was so fast. He rolled his point, but I didn't re-bet because this wasn't any fun at all. I stood there for a couple of minutes without betting, and just watching the same thing happen over and over. I'd never heard of speed craps before, so I colored out and went to another table.
Is that just something that happens? It was really weird to me and not fun at all. I feel like I should have said something, but it was so weird that I didn't really even know what to say. I'd like to hear a dealer's perspective on what was going on there, or if anyone else has ever seen that happen. Also, a good way to point out the situation should it ever come up again without sounding like a whiner. Thanks!

Is the Valley View Casino concert in San Diego entirely general admission?

When I go to purchase on AXS from the Brockhampton website it says the whole concert is GA, but if I go to other sellers it says it’s either sold out or has seating sections.
