I live in a senior housing community for people aged 55 and older. We all have identical 1-bedroom cottages that’s set up in groups of four or quads so that all of our front doors face inward toward each other. So, if I open my front door, I have a very clear view of the front doors of my 3 neighbors and because I am in the back of this quad, I also have a view of the parking area. I think the purpose of grouping the houses this way was to create a friendly and safe atmosphere; however, it’s just creepy in a “you have no privacy” kind of way.
I am F57, disabled, and have a 16-year-old pickup truck that gets me where I need to go most of the time. If you’ve ever owned a pickup truck, you’ll understand my frustration. If you haven’t owned one, talk to anyone who has and they will tell you that according to friends, family, acquaintances, neighbors, and even complete strangers, you have it so that you can help them move, haul furniture or a tree they cut down, and anything else they can’t fit in the trunk of their car. AND because it is a pickup truck, it can be mistreated, abused, dented, scratched, beaten up, and treated like a piece of heavy construction equipment and you shouldn’t care because well. . . it’s a truck.
I have a neighbor (F - about 65 years old) that has kind of made a pest of herself since the day I moved in. I’ve done my best to be neighborly, nice, and accommodating, but each time I interact with her, I’m left feeling used. The neighbor, let's call her Karen, has come over pretending to want to visit with me, which she does for about 2 minutes, and then asks me for something. In the 3 years that I’ve been here, she’s asked me to set up 2 TVs (at different times), take a new alarm clock out of its packaging and then teach her how to operate it. I’ve been asked to fill out her food stamp paperwork, fill out information for her lease renewal, read a piece of mail to her and explain it because she didn’t understand it, to take her places and to “loan” her money for the bus. That’s just a few.
Now that you get the idea of what I’ve dealt with before, it’s time for the story.
One Monday morning, Karen comes beating on my door (she does what I call a “cop knock” – loud, hard, and repeated) around 8 a.m., waking me up. (I am a night owl, by the way.) I go to the door and she is standing there holding her natural gas bill telling me how she needed a ride to the gas company's office to talk to them about paying the bill and hands me the bill. I look at it, hoping to find a phone number for her to call, but there isn't one, but I do see that her bill is for about $17. So, I take her across town with her providing the directions since I had never been to this building (the gas company did not have an office in town, so I guess this was maybe a payment center). I drop her at the front, park, and wait for her. Karen comes out saying that they can't help her there and asks me if she should just call them to make arrangements to make payments since she didn't have the money. I tell her that's what I would do and bring her back home. We basically made this trip for nothing.
Two days later, there is another loud, repeated banging on my door waking me up just before 9 a.m. Karen is back and seems to be a little frantic. She needs a ride again. This time she's very vague about why she wants to go, but left me with the impression that something was going to get turned off, repossessed, or turned over to collections if she didn't go. She's also vague as to where she wants to go. She keeps tell me that it's down by the casino, across the street from the gas station. I told her I'd take her but she would have to point me in the right direction since I've never been to the casino. She gives me turn by turn directions until she has me turn left onto the entrance road for the casino. I'm looking around for any other businesses or even the gas station and I'm not seeing anything other than the casino in front of us and open land on either side. So, I ask her where am I supposed to be dropping her. Karen points to an upcoming sign and says, "See the sign that says 'Valet'? Just follow that sign." Yep, you guessed it, Karen had me drop her at the front entrance to the casino. She'd lied to me by omission. She didn't ask me to take her to the casino (which I would probably have done since it's none of my business how she spends her money), she asked me to take her to a business near the casino. Yeah, well, I wasn't happy. On Monday she couldn't afford to pay her $17 gas bill and on Wednesday she's going to the casino by tricking me into taking her.
A week goes by and I am in the office paying my rent when Karen comes in.
Karen: Why didn’t you tell me you were coming here today. Girl, I just walked all the way here.
Me: Didn’t know you needed a ride. I can give you a ride back to the house if you would like.
I wait while Karen pays her rent and we walk out together. Now, I’m expecting to get in my truck and drive the 4 blocks back to my house. Karen had another idea.
Karen: Take me to Everything’s Cheap store.
Me: Where?
Karen: To Everything’s Cheap. Just turn here at the stop sign and I’ll show you. It’s not far.
Me: Karen, I’m going to take you there, but I’m not shopping and I’m not going to sit in the parking lot and wait for you. You’ll have to get another ride home or walk.
Karen: It’s fine. I won’t be long.
I drop her at the front door and I go home. A couple of hours later, she bangs on my door.
Karen: Where did my ride go?
Me: Home. I told you that I wasn’t going to wait for you.
Karen: I had all my stuff that I had to carry home. Now my back hurts.
Me: I’m sorry, but I warned you.
Karen walks away muttering things that I didn’t understand and slammed her door.
Skip ahead several months and I run into Karen again as I am paying my rent. She wants me to give her a ride to the Social Security office. I tell her that I can't as my truck is not running right and I can't get too far from home in it until I get it check out and fixed. My truck started having issues and it's been difficult trying to get it fixed with lock-down, a back issue that left me bedridden for several weeks, and 2 major hurricanes this year (there’s nothing major wrong with the truck - just needs a new starter and gaskets to fix an oil leak that's caused the starter to go bad).
Karen: But it's just a few blocks away and it's hot out here.
Me: I can't trust my truck not to leave me stranded with no way to get it home.
Karen: It will be fine.
Me: Maybe, but I'm not willing to risk it.
Karen slaps the side of my truck and continues on her walk and I go home in my truck.
Another 3 days go by and more banging on my door and again I am awakened (it's 7:15 a.m.). This time I'm angry and I snatched the door open.
Me: What?
Karen (standing there with her purse and house keys in her hand as if she knows I'll say yes): I need to go to the mattress store. I need to pick up my new queen size mattress.
Me: No. My truck still isn't running right.
Karen: But I need your truck to haul the mattress home.
Me: No.
Karen: It's not a heavy mattress.
Me: Oh, so who’s going to help you get it in and out of my truck and carry it into your house?
Karen: The two of us can do it.
Me: Karen, I have degenerative disk disease. The disks in my spine are disintegrating. I can't lift nor carry a mattress even with someone helping.
Karen: But I already bought it. How am I going to get it home?
Me: Call friends or family to help you.
Karen: They don't have a truck and you do!
Me: Yes, I have a truck, but there is no sign anywhere on it that says Free Moving Company.
I close the door on her and go back to bed. An hour later, more knocking. This time, it's an older man.
Man 1: Excuse me, but is that your truck? (He points at my truck in the parking lot.)
Me: Yes.
Man 1: I have an upright piano I need to move and was wondering if I could use your truck.
Me: No. (I glance over at the neighbor's house and I see her peeking through a crack in her door - I have a sneaking suspicion she has put this guy up to this to see if I would help him.)
Man 1: You can drive the truck. I just need to have the piano hauled to my storage unit.
Me: How are you going to get an upright piano into the bed of my truck?
Man 1: I'll just roll it up a ramp and into the back.
Me: Do you know how much an upright piano weighs? One person can't push it up a ramp. If you use a ramp on my tailgate, you will break the tailgate and probably lose the piano in the process. My truck is large, but the rear end is not made for hauling a piano and will cause the front end to lift off the ground preventing my front wheel drive truck from gaining traction and straining my 16-year-old engine.
Man 1: Well, could you call 4 or 5 of your male friends to help lift it into the back of the truck?
Me: No!
I close the door on this man, too. He didn’t come right out and say it, but I felt like he wanted to borrow my truck so he could go pick up the mattress for Karen. Yeah, I’m a little suspicious.
The following morning . . . *sigh* . . . I ignore the knocking that occurs every half hour or so over a 3-hour period until she finally gives up. Later that afternoon, I open my door to get the mail out of my box when a second man approaches me out of nowhere. It’s like he was hiding around the corner waiting for me to come out of my house.
Man 2 (points at my truck - it irritates me every time someone does this): Is that your truck?
Me (feeling very annoyed and snarky): What gave it away? Is it because it's parked in a space clearly labeled with my house number? Or is it because someone told you who the truck belonged to? (I point at Karen's house.)
Man 2: Does it run?
Me: Listen, I don't know what you're wanting me pick up, deliver, move, haul, transport, or tow, but I am not a moving company, taxi, uber, delivery service, or a tow truck. I won't be doing any of those things and before you ask, I won't be allowing you or anyone else to drive my truck either. Now, do you have any other questions?
Man 2: Uh, do you want to sell it?
Me: What?! Why would I want to sell it?
Man 2: Well, since it needs fixing, I thought maybe you would want to sell it to someone who could afford to fix it.
Me: How do you know it needs fixing?
Man 2 (turns bright red and can't take his eyes off ground): I just thought if you sold it, you could buy something else and I could fix the truck.
Me: Tell Karen that I'm not selling you my truck so that you can fix it to give to her.
Man 2: I wasn't going to give it to her.
Me (pointing at his huge truck parked in Karen's designated space): You want me to believe that you would rather have my 16-year-old truck that needs repair than your brand-new truck? How stupid do you think I am?
As the older man silently stares at the ground, Karen flings her door open and marches up to me.
Karen: Just sell him your truck so he can fix it. You clearly aren't going to do it any time soon. At least I will put it to good use. I need it and I need it more than you apparently do. Now, he’s willing to get it fixed for me, so just sell him the damn truck already!
Me: My truck is not for sale! When or if I get my truck fixed is absolutely none of your business.
Karen: I’m going to call the office and tell them that you have a broken-down truck sitting in the parking lot that needs to be hauled to the junk yard. They’ll make you get rid of it or fix it.
Man 2: Karen, they can’t do anything to her . . .
Karen cuts him off. She’s so angry, she’s crying, shaking, and spitting as she screams
Karen: SHUT UP! STAY OUT OF THIS. I WANT THAT TRUCK AND I’M GOING TO GET IT! I’LL CALL THE POLICE. THEY WILL MAKE HER GET RID OF IT.
Man 2: Karen, the police aren’t . . .
She cuts him off again.
Karen: YES, THEY WILL. THEY'LL LISTEN TO ME.
She storms off to call the police. In the meantime, I brought a chair outside along with a can of soda and a bowl of microwave popcorn. I figured this was going to be a good show. Karen and Man 2 have gone inside her house to wait. The neighbor to my left has come out to see what’s going on. Let’s call her Mary. Mary can’t stand Karen, so she drags a chair out and sits next to me and we share my popcorn.
Enter Cop 1 and Cop 2
The cops arrive in about 5-6 minutes and walk up to Karen’s door and knock while glancing around at Mary and me and grinning. She answers and tells them that I have created an eyesore in the neighborhood by having an old beat up, broken-down truck sitting in the parking lot and she wants it removed immediately.
Cop 1 (pointing at my truck - yep, he does it, too and I can't help but roll my eyes): That truck?
Karen: Yes.
Cop 1: That truck is clean, shiny, no dents, no scratches, new tires . . . are you sure that’s the eyesore?
Karen: Yes. It’s 10 years old and broken and she doesn’t want to fix it. It’s just sitting there doing nothing for months.
Me: It’s 16 years old.
Cop 2 (spins around, surprised): Seriously? That truck is that old? Wow! It’s in great shape. You’ve taken good care of her.
Me: Thank you.
Karen: I want that truck gone!
Cop 2 walks over to me to discuss my truck’s mechanical history. So, I explain to him that in the 16 years that I have owned her, I have changed her oil every 3-4 months, given her a bath once a month, got her a new set of tires 6 years ago, and when I first began having problems with her starting, I bought a new battery (the old one was the original battery from when I bought the truck off the showroom floor), and when the battery wasn’t the problem, I had a mechanic come and look at it. He determined that it was the starter and the gasket was leaking. All I was waiting on was my friend to come and help me start her (someone needs to get under the truck and tap the starter while someone else turns over the ignition) so that I can get it to the mechanic’s house for him to work on it.
Karen: She’s lying. That truck hasn’t moved in 3 months.
Me (offering popcorn to Cop 2 who took a handful): Wrong. It hasn’t moved in 4 days. It’s had problems for 3 or 4 months.
Cop 1: Ms. Karen, there really isn’t anything the police department can do for you. Her truck definitely isn’t an eyesore nor is it sitting there in pieces creating a safety hazard.
Karen: She’s driving down property values.
Cop 1 (starts chuckling): Ms. Karen, you are renting a house in government subsidized senior housing.
Cop 2: Why don’t you tell us the real reason why you want her truck removed.
Mary (who has been silent until now - stands up and turns on her best diva soul-sister voice and attitude and gives the cops the greatest Deep-South Beautiful Black Woman sermon I’ve ever heard – I’ll try to write as best I can): Ohh, Lawd Jesus, help us all! Dis here woman of the night, want everything she can’t have, Lawd! I think it’s cuz she pulls her hair back so tight, Lawd, she can only see what’s in the back o’ her mind! Uh huh! She wants her Old Saggy Boy Toy of the Day here to buy my friend’s pick’em up truck, so she can go and pick’em up, Lawd, mm-hmm, if ya gittin' what I’m sayin’. He buy it and trade it to her for a little roll on her nasty sheets! Lawd Jesus, help us! And she think she all hot and sexy so you believe her and take away my friend’s truck. She a fool, uh huh. She think she can fool you, too, uh huh! How da hell do ya think she got those 2 big ass TVs in there? Mmm-hmm!
Cop 1 is bent over laughing hysterically while Cop 2 is standing with his mouth open and his eyes wide.
Cop 2 (turns to Man 2): Is any of that true?
Man 2 (embarrassed, humiliated, and just looking tired): She wanted the truck and 50 bucks.
Karen and Man 2 are arrested. Not sure what the exact charges were but I heard words being thrown around like pandering, solicitation, scamming, and false complaint among others. A couple of days later, Mary told me that Karen returned home. I guess she found a way to get bailed out. I haven’t seen her and I am hoping that I don’t. As for my “pick’em up truck”, I’m still waiting to get her to the mechanic. My friend will be here on his next day off (he doesn't get them often) to help me. It’s a good thing I’m a patient person with a super diva as a friend and neighbor. It's also good to know that my truck is at least worth one 20-minute roll on the sheets and 50 bucks.
EDIT: Thanks for the awards everyone! And just a little side note for those of you rolling your eyes at the fact that I offered a cop popcorn and he took it - I live in the Deep South in a small-ish college town. The cops here are helpful, friendly (until provoked), and generally good guys. When construction workers stole from me after Hurricane Laura, two cops came to investigate and afterwards I offered them both a bottle of water and they accepted.

Saturday: three days of mourning

From Saturday to Monday, the country pays tribute to those who died in the war. Pashinyan and other officials participated in the memorial march to Yerablur Pantheon. Some opposition outlets had earlier claimed that Pashinyan would skip the march and use his father's death as an "excuse".
During the march, a group of anti-Pashinyan activists blocked the crowd from moving forward. The police were involved to clear the way. The PM spoke with families of fallen soldiers and laid flowers.
Education Ministry, Labor Ministry, and Cadastre Committee rebutted opposition media rumors about someone allegedly calling state workers and forcing them to participate in the Yerrablur memorial. Government bodies called the "fake news" an "attempt to create an atmosphere of division in the public."
The opposition, led by the former regime, held its own rally from the Freedom Square. They marched to St. Gregory Illuminator church. BHK chief Tsarukyan was also present. The theme remains the same: Nikol must go, Vazgen Manukyan must become the new PM.

Sunday memorial events

President Sarkissian visited Yerablur on Sunday. "These are difficult days. I hope that with the end of 2020 we will close the tragic page and we will be able to stand up and open a new page. The only thing we will remember from 2020 is the sacred memory of the people who gave their lives to defend the Homeland. All misfortunes should be lessons, not painful memories. We have to start our life again. I look forward to the end of this year".

We will need a comprehensive evaluation of how and why things developed and ended that way. We must face the reality and admit that we have made mistakes for many years, the mistakes we have made have been systemic, conceptual, substantive. This cannot be a result of one person or events in just a few years.
Did I understand all this while taking office as Prime Minister? Of course. Was I trying to change the situation? Of course. I am now more convinced than ever that there was simply no time to stop the spinning wheel of history.
The borders in the Syunik sector are being adjusted, or rather, the Armenian Armed Forces are being stationed on the internationally recognized borders of Armenia (there were no soldiers here before because Syunik was not bordering Azerbaijan before the war). This process changes certain setups we're familiar with, introduces inconveniences, complications, and emotions. In reality, this is being done to ensure and strengthen the safety of Syunik.
How? In areas outside of the Republic of Armenia, there was a high risk of military actions, which could carry on to Syunik with all their consequences. By doing the border demarcation of our internationally-recognized lands, we are introducing security assurances. Additionally, Russian border guards are already stationed in some parts of Syunik, which creates a whole new situation.
The demarcation can complicate travel on some roads, but these are issues that can be resolved by having an AM-AZ-RU document (specifically about road safety).
Not one millimeter of Syunik or Republic of Armenia land has been conceded. Any claim to the contrary is simply false.
The people, only the people, should decide the fate of the government and not the elite circles. My November 18th Roadmap will address post-war issues and establish internal stability.
"Let's build Armenia anew." I chose this slogan before the war to guide Armenia's transformation strategy. And this formula is useful for our future as well. We have to perceive the world in a new way, we have to look at what we have to do in a new way, we have to re-evaluate our capabilities in a new way, first of all in education, science, technological development, we have to build our dream anew, and we have to dream anew.
Glory to our fallen heroes, glory to our living heroes, and glory to those who will still be heroes on the way to realizing the dreams of our people.

Artsakh president office: the media rumors about giving Karmir Shuka (south) to Azerbaijan is fake news. Moreover, we plan to build new housing there soon.

A group of protesters, lead by the city's deputy-mayors, closed the Goris road so Pashinyan couldn't enter the city. The police were involved, there was a scuffle.
Goris mayor ex-HHK Arush Arushanyan was taken to the police station earlier that day and charged with attempting to organize an unauthorized event/protest (Code 34-225¹⁾ to prevent the PM from entering the city. HHK and BHK officials gathered outside of the police station to show him support.
2010 border demarcation law, the "GPS" myth
Pashinyan met the crowd in Sisian. One of the opposition's complaints has been "GPS is inaccurate and cannot be used for demarcation", to which, Pashinyan answered, "[the demarcation] is done multiple times, with different methods. There is no issue in this regard."
Pashinyan: There is a lot of talk about *"giving away" Syunik". In fact, it is quite the opposite. When we deploy our border troops in accordance with the Armenian border, our level of security increases because that border also becomes the border of the security system of which we are a member.
The demarcation is carried out following the law adopted in 2010. The issue is that the current borders, the description of the administrative borders of our communities, were clarified by the law on the "administrative-territorial division of the Republic of Armenia", adopted in 2010.
In that law, for example, villages Khndzoresk and Tegh were drawn to include borders with Azerbaijan. The government in 2010 had accepted that demarcation; now we're facing problems here. And today, some of the people, who ask why and how the borders are being demarcated this way, are the same officials who were public officials in 2010, who adopted this law.If what we're doing today is "treason", then what happened in 2010 is even more of a "treason".
"why didn't CSTO get involved during war?"
Pashinyan: why didn't CSTO act during the war? For the same reason: our 2010 law states that this is what our official Republic of Armenia border is and that anything beyond Tegh village is Azerbaijan. CSTO, naturally, couldn't act beyond our official borders. We have received assurances that in the event of action within our borders, the bloc will act.

Resident: our army did not lose the war.
Pashinyan: Our army and the people are heroes, there can be no two opinions about it. That doesn't mean there weren't issues, or some soldiers and generals didn't complete their tasks. We must build our self-confidence and optimism one by one, we must rebuild Armenia and Artsakh.

Pashinyan visited Sisian city Pantheon. He then met a crowd in the main square and thanked them for "for such an understanding, for such an acceptance". During a speech in Sisian, Pashinyan said he will avoid confrontation with those who closed the road to Goris city. He said there were families and supporters who wanted to meet in Goris, and that one of the reasons the road was closed to possibly prevent that from happening.
Father of a fallen soldier: Pashinyan still has 8 months to go. He must and will answer all the questions. Tomorrow, ARF Ishkhan Saghatelyan and those guys [ex-regime] must also answer. Tomorrow they [ex-regime] will say "go ask Nikol if you have questions". So Nikol should do his part and answer the questions, so others can answer theirs.
Pashinyan: please try not to politicize today [about giving ARF Ishkhan's name].
Father of a fallen soldier: we must give their names. The same names and their parties are gathered in the public square today. Today you [Nikol] must enter Sisian and elsewhere with your head held high and without bodyguards. Let's get rid of pain and sorrow then we will know what to do next.

Residents spoke about various border and social issues.
Pashinyan: I came to look at Syunik residents in the eye. I know that I'm guilty in many ways. Our citizens deserve more. Unfortunately, not a single government, including ours, has been able to deliver what our citizens deserve. I apologize on behalf of all governments.
priest vs Pashinyan
While in Syunik, Pashinyan entered a church and lit a candle in memory of the fallen. Upon exiting, he came across priest Pargev Zeynalyan. Pashinyan raised his hand to greet but the priest let it hang in the air. Pashinyan left.
A church representative said the priest had the right to express his political beliefs.
That didn't prevent the crowd, angry at the priest's conduct, to march to the church and block its entrance. They wanted to kick the priest out. The police told the crowd not to enter. The priest refused to meet the protesters. The protesters left and promised, "not to allow the politicized priest to enter that church again".
The priest denied subsequent false rumors about police allegedly raiding his house over the incident. (of course, gotta throw a couple of fake news here and there for "political persecutions" illusion)
 
Pashinyan was supposed to travel from Sisian to Goris, but the road was closed, as mentioned earlier. He decided not to confront the group and returned to Yerevan. "Now I am convinced that the road was closed so that it does not become obvious that the atmosphere in Goris, Kapan, Kajaran, Meghri was the same as in Sisian *[generally welcoming]. We will not resort to force, especially on the day of mourning. We are returning to Yerevan. I owe one visit to Goris, Kapan, Kajaran, and Meghri. Peace to our martyrs."*

border demarcation: Shurnukh border village suburbs

Mayor of border village Shurnukh, Syunik: The 12 houses in the lower suburbs, which according to rumors were supposed to go under Azeri control, will stay under Armenian control, according to the latest updated information. The army and Russians came and began working on border installation beyond the village area. I'm not entirely sure this is the final status, it could change, so stay tuned.
There will be a demarcation process but I don't know when. Our local volunteers guard the borders. Women and children were evacuated from the area for now, just in case.

press unions condemn attacks on media outlets / free press

First incident. Former regime's activists attempted to prevent Pashinyan and tens of thousands of participants from marching to Yerablur Pantheon on weekend. During the incident, they identified a journalist from "Azatutyun" (pro-western) and began assaulting him. (Azatutyun office was also raided by supporters of former regime on November 10th).
Second incident. 5TV is owned by Kocharyan's friend. It has a record of manipulating interviews and information in general (e.g. the March 1st documentary). Some people don't like them for this reason. 5TV reporter was cussed by Pashinyan supporters, while QP MP Andranik Kocharyan refused to take questions from him.
Third incident. Opposition activists cussed Azatutyun reporters and tried to prevent them from doing the work.

PRESS casualties during the war

HR Ombusmn: Five foreign and two Armenian reporters received severe injuries during the war. One reporter was killed. They were targeted by Azerbaijan intentionally. They were wearing PRESS uniforms, which are visibly different from army uniforms. Azerbaijan prevented reporters from working in front lines and launched a felony investigation against some international reporters (Semyon Pegov) for visiting Artsakh.

POWs & search operation

62 Armenian soldiers remain encircled/captured near the Khtsaberd village after the previous weekend skirmishes in the narrow strip of land held by Armenia west of the Shushi-Hadrut corridor. "They are alive and well."
Azerbaijan has acknowledged their presence. Work is being done with Russian peacekeepers to repatriate them. 70 others had returned a few days ago. One volunteer guard said it began after over a thousand Azeri troops moved forward and told them to leave a position; some did while others didn't. This area did not have Russian peacekeepers until the incident.

felony investigations post-war / SIS launches an investigation to examine:

1) Reports of officers disobeying commands during the war, and desertion. 882 cases are being examined. Dozens have been charged.
2) Several civilian and military individuals intentionally spread alarming information to create panic among soldiers in the front lines (Vitalik's friend's incident, possibly), and claimed that the war was already decided, it was a conspiracy, and that it was pointless to fight. There are multiple felony cases regarding this. Investigation continues.
3) A felony case is launched against an officer who refused to do his duties in the southern part of Artsakh. (if this is General Movses Hakobyan, expect him to cry "political persecution" because he was the first one to give a press conference to create a narrative, a-la Dodi Gago).
4) Investigations over claims made by General Movses Hakobyan on November 19th. We're investigating a group of high-ranking officials for possibly violating protocols set by the Defense Ministry, which lead to reduced performance, which impacted the outcome of the war.
We are also examining the reports, submitted by various political parties, to investigate the $5 billion offer that was made to Pashinyan by Aliyev (the offer Aliyev made to Serj and Pashinyan to give away 7 regions without a fight).
5) A felony investigation was launched [to investigate Pashinyan] after [former regime figure] Garnik Isagulyan claimed that Pashinyan took a $48 million bribe from Turkey and that his NSS chief Qyaramyan gave away 1400 passports to Azerbaijan, and helped Azeris to invade Hadrut. Isaghulyan was invited to SIS to provide evidence; he refused. The examination found no proof of these claims. A felony case was launched against Isagulyan himself for making false reports.
6) There were multiple reports in mid-November that Shushi was "sold" and an order was given for soldiers to deliberately retreat so Azeris could take it. This was investigated by SIS and NSS, courts were involved, reports from various media outlets are being investigated, including Arayik's leaked phone call and General Samvel Babayan's "post-mortem" interview.
Additionally, there is an investigation of the embezzlement of property belonging to the army.
Besides investigating these claims, we will also investigate their impact on the final outcome of the war.

Hello my name is Sofia I'm 16 years old and I'm from Russia and I have 2 years to survive before my end.
A while ago I made one post in subreddit about immigration, but everything I got is a lot of downvotes and mainly got ignored. Like I got ignored by everything my whole life.
First of all, I gonna say why I have a time limit, there a lot of reasons for that. I don't sure what I should begin, but in short my current status:

• I have big problems with my family. Begining with no right to at least have a hair cut ending with dad that can get drunk, go back home and destroy everything, and beat my mom. Every day when both parents are home there are endless scandals and constant words about divorce.
• My mother always telling me about her problems since I was a little child. And keep talking like I was born to help her and at the same time, she can say why did I give birth to you. I sometimes respond with "I didn't ask you to give birth to me"
• Even my little brother hates me, make fun of me, call me a girl, that I look like a girl (don't sure how I should react, because I'm transgender), can punch me... I mean will punch me.
• Also, I eating instant noodles and the cheapest food, because we don't earn very much, a few times we don't even have enough money to pay for rent.
• I crying for almost every day. And it's doesn't even matter when my parents saw it, like if it was ok to always cry.
• I have problems at my school. Not only school bullies have hated me, but also some teachers. Bullies can beat me with a big crowd and even if I going lye down they gonna kick me.
• I can't be myself. I can't have my own opinion, every opinion is done by my mother, I can't say It's bad, but sometimes I don't want to be a robot that does whatever they say with no rights to say "I want" or simply say "no"
• I have no friends because they weren't my actual friends. I always used to be their doll with they can play. They betrayed me, they make fun of me.
• I have nightmares, my past is haunting me. It's made even one scar on my hand.
• If I don't escape this country I will be doomed. When I will be 18 there will be forced conscription that has a problem with "Dedovshchina". People like I don't survive there, in the Russian army, it's not for weak people.
• I tried to suicide, but I never go too far.
• No one even cares about me, most of the people that I know hate me, no one can help me, even I...
• I scared of everything, I can't even write to people online, I just scared of them.
• A lot of transphobes make fun of me almost every day.
• Every day I keep thinking about self-harm. And sometimes I do this.
• Every time I want to do something to help myself there is something that trying to stop me and if I try to avoid that everything will be even worse than before.
• I lost belief in humanity. I don't even sure if it even exists.
• My dysphoria is killing me, but with depression, it feels so bad. I can't look at the mirror.
• My country took last rights from trans people so I can't live here anymore
• I'm useless I can't do anything. I can't draw, I can't even complete even an easy target. I'm so stupid...
• I'm broken and I have no sense to live on. Should I continue?......

So this is a small portion of everything that happened to me. I going to tell you some stories and going to open some of these themes that I listed above. I'll begin with my parents.
When I was 10 years old or less my dad always lost all money in casino on a slot machine. He worked as a guard in the same casino where he lost all money. Once he almost gave away our apartment like that.
Now we running out of money because of coronavirus. He was working at the hotel as a guard. The hotel went bankrupt and we didn't receive payment for 3 months. And he was working not legal there so we were totally dead.
Basically, we trying to survive (4 people) on around $544/month but as I said he loves to lose money so it's looking more like $408/month for 4 people but mainly even less. We need to use them to pay for two apartments that look like very bad, having two bad looking apartments in a bad city doesn't mean we rich. And also we need to pay for an extra apartment where we all live. Sometimes we are being sued for not paying at the right time.
Also, there was a stupid situation so we almost got homeless. My dad's father had our apartment, and so he cheated on my grandmother, who was not even close to me, I never saw her until I was 14 years old and eventually, a child was born, later my dad's father died and their family claimed inheritance, including our apartment, they were also rich and this angered me the most, like why they need our apartment in with we live, but also my mom telling about these problems to me. I was around 10.

We don't even have wallpapers before. Just empty walls actually that place still don't have wallpapers everywhere. Mainly, this was because my dad is lazy he doesn't do anything, he was doing only: Farting on the couch, playing video games on smartphone, annoys everyone, etc. Every hard work was done by my mother and with some of our help (kids)
My dad. He doesn't give a fuck about us. And he always will. He living only for himself and only for himself.
The due first month of quarantine in Russia I was eating only one time per day.
When we had no money, father was god knows where, we can't even live in our house at this moment we lived in grandma house and grandma can't even give money or support us somehow, so mainly we were hungry,
So I hate my dad, but not my mom, she just trying to save us from our dad.
My mom trying to control my life, watching my every step, it continues to my 14 years old, then and for today she just annoys me with asking what I was doing today or who do I write to, etc.
Also, my mom sometimes trying to make suicide, and it's so hard to stop her, she just going to our medkit and start eating every drug. It's terrible.
My mom and my brother love to make fun of me. Trying to annoy me and made me cry. Telling jokes about me, and if I don't act like I don't care, they gonna make fun of me even more.
My mother almost every time very sick. She just sneezed and broken spine or something, she felt so bad, so she crying of pain I asked her for calling to a hospital, but she declines. Every time she looks like she gonna die right now she doesn't want to call for help to the hospital.
Yesterday (6th August) my mom almost set the whole house on fire, by putting a wooden circle on a gas stove and then a big bowl of bad soup, and then after a while, it ignited, and a great column of fire rose and a lot of smoke came out.
My dad drunk at least one time per week. He often loses his items such a phone because he literally can sleep under the fence of some house. He destroyed a lot of things in our house. The fridge still has traces of his punches. Rarely, but he can punch me. He doesn't love me at all, he loves only his second son.
Endless scandals. I don't even know what to say about it. I can't protect anyone anymore when dad is angry.
And things that always with me. Whatever someone does something bad, they told me that it was I. In a time of school it makes me wanna die because the whole class told the teacher that I PUNCH myself, poor bullies, how dare me!
While I was in my classroom due to math lessons, there was break time and I sat in my class since I don't have friends and reasons to go out. And then my classmate ran in class with words that I stole sled of some little kid, then class appears and say that's it's true and we saw you, then the school principal and homeroom teacher appeared and they saying that they got me and me in big trouble but God was on my side in this day and teacher start to debate with them how I can steal something while I'm in school sitting in this classroom! Thankfully she able to approve that they wrong. Actually, this is the first time and last time that someone saved me from hell. But all school already thinks that I stole a sled of little kid.
Also, they love to stalk me to my home and scream that I'm "gay" and "pussy" and other words. When I go downstairs they very often trip me up and then I fall very badly. They also love to hide my clothes so I stay in school for many hours to find my cloth.
I was in school bullies start to say that I miserable, doesn't deserve a feature and many things, but when I can't take it anymore and say something in their side they start to kick me with a crowd, I was laying down, and 4 people just keep kicking me, whole class watch this everyone was happy they said punch harder, kick harder! I think it just like forever.
But at some point it's ended, I can't feel anything, I don't even stand up, I just cried. Then the teacher walks in class and saw me. I think she was thinking "oh no he* is crying again!". Then she said stand up and said go with me, I thought she will finally help me, but I was so wrong. She went with me to high school (I never was in there at this moment), to the headmaster of this school. I sat in her cabinet and she starts to scream at me that everyone got tired of you and you should die we will kick you from school because of your behaviors. I just crying and can't even listen to all the things that she said, I thought I just disappointed my mom. After 1 hour and more of scream at me she said stand up, we gotta go, I asked what do you mean? but don't get a response back. We walked outside with a fire exit door, there was a black tuned car and it has a lot of people inside. At this time I thought I'll die and I start to say sorry for everyone, but mainly for my mother. I thought we gonna ride in the forest because I never saw these places before, the whole road I just praying. No one is speaking. Finally, I saw my house, and parked at the entrance to the entrance (It looks like English doesn't have this word), she said to go out but gives me some document. I slowly walked upstairs, every step I felt worse and worse, and finally, when I was on the 5th floor I ring to door, my mom opened the door I gave her this document and when she asked me "What happened?" I started to cry again and fall on my bed. The document contains something about my expulsion from school. It was my worst day. You can say me, why you can't change school but in a place where I live before, there was only one school.
Is I'm a bad person? I'm always tried to help people and animals if I can.
I stop at least three people and my mother of suicide in real life.. don't sure if this counts...
I destroyed a lot of "columbine" community everywhere I can and trying to help people, change their minds. So I stop many people of suicide and killing everyone in schools.
There was a thing as 'The Groups of Death' most popular was "Blue whale". It was a game in real life where you do some tasks, but then it quickly flows into tasks like "cut your wrist" and so on. The ending of this game is to kill yourself, doesn't matter with way, but mainly it's just jumping from a rooftop. I was horrified about this, so I had an idea to create an anti-group of death called "Pink Flamingo". Everything was fine, I helped a lot of people, make therapy for them, give advice, and at the end of the game you should be alright and happy, there was no real end. But in one day my group was banned from Vkontakte as I remember for this reason: I created a group of death. Bravo, they even block my own page almost permanent, it was hard to restore it, it was a special ban.
I really remember that I made a lot of happy birthday congratulations on things in windows movie maker to everyone... I was 8 years old or less... I always helped grandmothers, carrying their products, or moving them across the road.
Some bullies wanted to kick poor cat to death, I don't let them do that, so they kicked me... BUT hey! I saved a cat!
When I had internet "friends" we had a community, I called it "TeaTown community", we were like a big family, I helped to everyone there, they need something I give it to them and a lot of other things, yes they kinda don't like me because I always want to help everyone and it annoys them. And in one day we built a big city with a 10+ player population and I started this community brick by brick with a new friend (everyone knew them even before I appear there) and in one day after a month of friendship he just asks me to add his friend to private since I don't know him and I was scared of security and for everyone, I said no! They start to scream on me and call me a pussy and such and I add him under this pressure and then they immediately kill me and destroyed my house and storehouse of the city I was broken they even used cheats so I can't fight with them. But it's not all, they told something to all of my friends, and everyone started to hate me and they start to don't trust me. I managed to get a little bit of their trust and I became a part of this community again. I build a church and live in there. I still helped to everyone. But in one day someone busted me, he gives access to church to those two who grief me before and then they destroyed my church, no items survived. I actually have a few footages where they were cheating and griefing. Actually, I showed it to admins. And guess what? I got permanently banned. They bought the admins. The main conflict is very stupid, to solve it I need to apologize for not letting them grief me and don't add them immediately to private. Also one of them always saying something I'm a god and you're nothing.
When I finally realized that I'm transgender, I made a coming out and every friend that I have, even my best friend start to hate me even gay one and it made me feel very bad. A was lone for a month and since I can't find new friends I tried to go back to them. They made a lot of transphobic things like burning the trans flag, mis-pronouns me and everything, but in one day they reach something above of normal, when I died I teleported in a strange place, they made a test lab that I need to pass, they gave me adventure mode, some of them was in spectator mode, my "best friend" was behind glass, they said hello and then look in the chest I saw a pufferfish that named "Trans have no right" they say eat it. I eat it, don't sure why. The next thing was a potion, that I need to drink to be female, but unfortunately, It doesn't work and I got aids, then they give me a wooden pickaxe and said to dig obsidian... 4 blocks of obsidian with a wooden pickaxe, sick bastards! Then there was another room with insane hard parkour. After a while, I passed it and I got into another room where I should choose one of three answers, in fact, some of them were not transphobic like there was a question about Kazahstan with dates. At the end of the quiz, they hide the right answer behind me, so it should make me confused, once it solved I went to the final room. I saw to "dicks" and my best friend said choice dick, sit and die, there was a big black one with racism on a sign that gonna destroy all my organs because it's a big and sticky white one with gonna pull out my guts and made me die. I don't remember what I chose, but it was horrible we was a friend for many years and then they do this? How sad, even my "best friend"
Since that, I don't really have friends anymore.
All my classmates around me in school used drugs and they were very bad and none of them want to be my friend. This why I never had a friend in real life. Everyone in real life was very bad, many of them were in police stations already. Even girls were bad, they drunk too much and engaged in prostitution.
All the people I knew had a boyfriend/girlfriend/whatever at some point, but I never had, so they very shooked when they knew this fact, but I don't think I need that, I don't think I need something, maybe I just don't deserve life. In fact, I don't even sure with sexual orientation is I or do I even want to have someone.
I hate to remember the place where I lived before because of school, memories, and thing like:
I just going to home from school and then from nowhere on a large speed a big van is riding on the sidewalk not even giving any sign. I jumped out at the last moment. It still gives me nightmares.
Or like when someone kicked me in school when I was going downstairs and then when I was going home someone walking far away and scream that I'm "faggot" and other words but then I saw two small dogs. Nothing special, but then huge dogs start to appear from nowhere and I start thinking about going back and find another way to go home, but when I turn my head I realized I already surrounded by huge evil dogs that barked and growled at me and then ran sharply at me. A big crowd of dogs surrounded me and chased me all over the city and I was running for my life, most of these dogs were huge, and I ran from almost 20 dogs. Honestly, I don't know why they can't catch me and where most of them gone when I was pretty close to my home, but it's doesn't matter. Yes and I cried and scream the whole road to home.
Just a typical day of my life. Mainly when I home I'll be saved. But every time I outside. Something bad is going to happen.
Also, teachers called me rude words and lower my grades. Imagine being a kid and the teacher call you a bag of shit that can't do anything.
I was in this place a week ago and I was praying to my mother to not go there, but she starts to say I never coming outside and I should ride or else I can say bye to my laptop. We stuck there for three days we just should be there for one day. We don't even have pillows or blankets. And I meet old school bullies that start to make fun of me one of them even punches me. He called me "faggot" again like in past. It was a nightmare. Everyone hates me there. My little brother hates me because I want to leave this nightmare as fast as I can, but he wants to be there for a longer time. I actually made a wrong thing later.
I wanted to escape and my reason for that was If stay there even more I will kill myself because so many horrifying memories' was there. I just walked to a train station, so basically I escaped from a mom and my little brother. And a bully from school walked to me, I didn't saw him and he said "Fuck you" and then he punches me in a face. Well then since I have no money with me right now (and always), so I have a "perfect" Idea to walk to my city on foot (48KM to the final station and also a long way to the city), but I just walked just one station is about 4km from there and I got already tired, but also at this moment I realize that I don't have keys for the apartment and also I need to go another 10+ stations + another more things I don't think of, so I went back.
The second reason I do so is that my mom and my brother start to make jokes about me and I just can't stand it.
I returned to a nightmare place and we got stuck here. I still feel very bad.
Actually, this isn't a serious escape because in one-day whole class the whole day made fun of me by calling me with bad words, they tripped me, they spat paper at me, and do much more. And the teacher remarked not to them but ME. I wonder why??? Then everything like in a fog. It was the end of the lesson and someone made my cry, I run out of class and saw fire exit, with tears, I very fast open this door and ran out of school, they tried to stop me, they even grab my backpack, but I ran away. So next I was thinking about getting drown or just die in the forest, maybe even of starving to death, but temporarily I hide somewhere and lay down there. It was a very cold autumn. I don't even wear a jacket and I was alone, thinking about suicide and the end of me, I was laying on trash, I even thought about live like a hobo, Because I can't live like that anymore. My mom can't do anything to help me she can't do it to end. So bullies can't get punished because of that. I always was in bruises. Even more, bullies have come up with an offensive nickname for me because of which I want to change my last name. The worst part that this thing also works in English and almost in every country, because this word sounds almost the same even though it writes very differently.
My poor relatives made me feel very sad and bad, but not every one of them. Looking at an old, lonely grandfather it's so heartbreaking, it's so awful to see a poor uncle stricken with a stroke and other can laugh on the situation, it's so wrong... also recently grandfather killed a cat... he put it somewhere and close it... he doesn't even feed it... a week passed... and then he opened a place where he put cat... but it's already almost died... on next day cat just died.....
Well, I don't do anything bad. I always tried to help people. But everything I received from them it just hates and other sad things. Nothing good. Yes, I made bad stuff and I apologize for that. I apologize that I was born. Wow, it hurt so much. I upset my parents. And I will upset them even more.
Teachers say there is no way I saying the truth because I can't always be "White and fluffy". I mean no one even trusts me for some reason. My friends busted me.
I always, every day, for many years keep talking to my parents that I'm going to make suicide, but they say that I don't saw a real-life, I don't live enough, and what kind of troubles you can even have in this age?
My family and other people keep told that my life is not the worst and I can agree. They can say the other one lives is worse than me, you at least have food, water, and a roof overhead, people from Africa are very poor, do you think about them? Yes, often think about poor people and that they need more help than me in fact I'm living very well in their background.
When I was a child I was thinking about writing a book about my life and write it when I will grow up, but now I don't find this idea very good. In fact, it's very stupid. I always feel stupid. Everyone thinks I'm stupid, retarded, or something. And I can kinda agree with them.
And I can't help myself because something will stop me and made feel me even worse and no one can help me. Every time I want to make animation, website, or whatever my programs got crashed, light turn off for the whole house, I lost internet connection, I got lost files or even worse corrupted because it most painful and any possible way to stop me from working that you can imagine.
I know odd people that sometimes can come from nowhere and write something odd. Something about eggs, something about fursuits while why do I in the world even want to know the cost of this? I don't hear you for months and you come back and say interesting how much fursuit is a cost or even "docking", various sort of things. There were only people that I talked with for like 5 months. I feel so terrible. For some things, I feel like I was raped and I don't even kidding.
First of all, I gonna say why I have a time limit, there a lot of reasons for that. I don't sure about what I should begin, but the current status that I'm suffering from Bullies, of my Family, of my Government, and what is going on in my country.
I tried to find transgender friends in Russia, but then I realized that it's an almost impossible challenge since most of them not just dressing and do other staff. Even when I saw an infinite number of almost always gross people I find the right thing, but even there I find bad people. One of them was younger than me he was 15 years old and then after a long conversation he said that he gives jobs to his boyfriend and do such things and send me some images, I try to change his mind, but he doesn't want to listen to me, he just enjoy that. And other transgenders I found were good people, but they weren't sure if they were transgender, but it still better than nothing. They never called me a friend in fact when I asked, they answer that we, not friends. And it broke my heart... I realized that I never had friends.
I scared to start to speak with anyone. When I don't speak everything usually better. So I can't say even a single word.
Almost every night I have a nightmare about someone is trying to catch me and I trying to escape. I need to notice that I'm MtF transgender. I notice it that late because I still scared. I want to escape from this endless nightmare, start a new life from a blank page, and finally be myself. But looking at others' lives gives me a thing. I can't complain about this. A lot of people living even worse than me.
I never talk to a psychotherapist because I was always scared to know to door or just make an appointment. But it has almost no sense, I'll just break my life forever by visiting a psychotherapist because there's almost no way to apply for a job because no one gonna takes a person who visited a psychotherapist. And most of them transphobes, so they gonna hurt me. The other one can't help me since the government looking for rights from transgenders.
I stuck in a circle of self-harm and writing a suicide note. I don't even strong enough to write this post, it was a nightmare for me. And I need to escape this country as fast as I can, because I can't take it any longer, people like me gonna die there.
I say almost nothing about I got bullied on the internet every day or how my government is worst in the world, I tired and you should know that I don't fully talk even about parents, friendship themes.

Urdnot Wrex

The krogan were a race from the irradiated hellhole of Tuchanka that were uplifted by the council species in order to face another race known as the rachni. They were successful, but without the hardships of their homeworld their population exploded, and the krogan began to try to take whatever they could in the galaxy. These Krogan Rebellions ended when the entire species was exposed to the Genophage, a biological agent that rendered only one in 1000 pregnancies viable, and made nearly the entire species sterile.
Urdnot Wrex is a krogan mercenary, and had long since lost any hope that his species could ever be saved. Instead he would travel from world to world, working as a bounty hunter, mercenary, or whatever else paid. His life changed forever when, on an assignment to kill a bar owner named Fisk, he met and joined forces with Commander Shepard. Sticking with the Commander after they became the first human spectre (a group of elite agents above galactic law), Wrex proved instrumental in helping thwart the schemes of rogue spectre Saren to take over the Citadel. After learning that Saren had found a way to cure the Genophage, and then destroying that cure to keep the krogan from being Saren's slaves, Wrex gained renewed faith in the fact that his people could be saved. Returning to Tuchanka, he took control of clan Urdnot and began to reform the krogan ways of doing things. His actions would eventually lead to him becoming the leader of the krogan race and bringing about a cure to the genophage, and would go on to prove invaluable in the war against the Reapers, as well as leading the Krogan to a brighter future beyond.
Note: A number of feats can be performed by any squadmate regardless of who they are. These feats will be marked with [Squadmate] and the gif is not guaranteed to have Wrex in them. Firearms: Mass Effect firearms work by using mass effect fields and electromagnetism to accelerate metal slugs to sufficient velocities and are designed to squash or shatter on impact. A single weapon can hold thousands of rounds, smaller than grains of sand. In general Mass Effect weaponry tear up stone and concrete, and destroy a satelite uplink in a single shot

• As of Mass Effect 2 weapons make use of a disposable heat sink (known as a thermal clip) which can be replaced in seconds. Spent clips are hot enough to ignite flamable liquid on contact

Body Armor: Body armor is made of fabric hardsuits with kinetic padding, with less flexible areas potentially reinforced with ceramic. These suits can be be sealed to protect against hostile enviornments. They can also apply medi-gel if an injury is detected Resistance to gun fire depends on the amount of reinforcement over a given body part.
Kinetic Barriers: Kinetic barries create mass effect fields that repel projectiles moving at sufficiently high velocity. Barriers can easily block single shots from pistols and submachine guns, and in the novels can block at least limited shots from assault rifles and sniper rifles

In Mass Effect 1 Wrex has training in assault rifles and shotguns, though shotguns seem to be the weapon he prefers.
Shotguns

• Creates a large explosion while dual wielding shotguns
  
• The M-300 Claymore, while since rendered safer originally had enough kickback to break a human arm, and leaves people in body armor a bloody mess
  
  • In the cinematic trailer it could blow apart the head of a thresher maw after being swallowed

• Throw: Creates mass effect fields to hurl objects and enemies which at max upgrade hits with 1250 Newtons of force

  • In 3 he can also detonate it to incapacitate enemies and this ability can be upgraded in various ways
  • In the novels barrier creates a powerful gravitational field that completely stops the momentum of several bullets
• Stasis: Immobilizes a foe with a mass effect field though this renders them immune to damage
  
  • In the novels a stasis field contains powerful opposing gravitational and magnetic forces to keep the target immobilized

• Killed a thresher maw (presumably on foot) during his right of passage. For reference thresher maws are giant subterranean worms that once wiped out an entire assault force of marines. Standard Slliance protocol is to engage a thresher maw in a vehicle equipped with heavy weaponry.
  
• Had good enough instincts to know Saren was bad news the moment he laid eyes on him
  
• Took out the entire crew of a ship by himself
  
• Put his hand through a machine at a casino
  
• Took out a gang of drunk Batarians
  
• Escapes an ambush of several krogan with his life, but not before stabbing the person who set it up with his knife
  
• Fought with an asari commando for two days straight, killing almost all of the people on the station they were on and eventually completely destroying it in the process.

• 104 | Luffy vs. Vivi! A Tearful Vow for Comrades

• Alright this episode definitely had some meat, in fact it had three servings of heavy meat.

1. Mr. 3 is crocodile food. Nice to see One Piece getting a little gruesome again. Crocodile still seems like a pretty major terrifying villain.
   
2. Number Agents are going to try and prevent Vivi and Kohze from meeting, I love the additional obstacles they're gonna face now getting to Kohze. But this has to go down quick, I feel the tension of all the sides coming to clash soon. There's definitely some suspense I'm feeling.
   
3. Usopp said it best, "Luffy can surprise you at times." He finally had another big lucid moment, criticizing Vivi's plan, which, after a fight, ended up in another Nami-Arlong-esque moment of Luffy yelling at her that they're her nakama, and she can risk their lives in addition to her own. They are seriously all in on fighting Crocodile, and all in on Vivi being their friend. I enjoy Luffy when he's more serious, and this was a huge moment for Vivi. These lucid moments with Luffy are so great because even though he's goofy most of the time, I think he's a little tongue in cheek too sometimes, and either way, at the end of the day, he knows when he needs to be serious, and he can get pretty serious.
   

• I also love how brutal Luffy/Vivi's fight was, like Luffy straight up leap-punches Vivi in the face. That is some real shit. This show is silly in some aspects, but it isn't immature in other aspects--quite the contrary, with serious enough dynamics going on, One Piece often knows when to ground itself for gritty drama. Anything One Piece can do to make me take it even further seriously, I'm all about that.

• 105 | The Alabasta War Front! City of Dreams, Rainbase

• Great episode, as well as the previous episode. It's like all of Alabasta so far has just been scaling up to these moments this entire time, all up to the final kickoff. It's of course what I've anticipated, and the time is upon me now.
  
• So Luffy was indeed a success at fully convincing Vivi that this fight needs to be rougher in order to have the best productive outcome. That they need to worry about confronting Crocodile. So, change of plans baby, we're going straight to the hornet's nest at Rainbase! Time is of the essence here, and it'll just take a day or so to get there. Not sure if that'll be enough time, because the Rebels are planning their hail mary fast.
  
• You know, in my last submission, I talked up Luffy a ton for being a moronic toddler, and not understanding basic resources. But first off, there was his confrontation with Vivi last episode, showing his more mature side. And secondly, that old man in Yuba dug all night to give them a little water, and Luffy is being resourceful as all hell with it. So I think that he may not understand a lot of stuff intuitively, but when there's a relationship or even just a person in general involved, then Luffy knows how to consider feelings and use that to inform him about reality. I think he's basically just got a good empathetic side and that helps him grow. How do I articulate this... Luffy has been awful with their limited resources by wasting watefood, but, as soon as he digs with this guy back in Yuba, understanding how hard his life is, and how big a deal that little bit of water is, then something big clicks in his head, and he's able to be productive about it. The stretch is that this might be actual character development, and in the future he's careful in general with resources, wasting less. The reality though is that this situation may just be in a vacuum--he'll continue to waste general resources, like their food/water, but he can protect resources that are significantly/novelly precious, like the old man's water (and his hat of course). But either way it really is doesn't matter too much in the end, it's just nice to see his brighter side to contrast the goofy side. I love it.
  
• What can help make fiction timeless is doing a good job at incorporating fundamental philosophies. It's that quality of groundwork that I usually look for in order to help enjoy something. And there have been other philosophical conflicts like this previously, but this one stands out so much because it's on such a large scale--an entire kingdom. One Piece is ticking this box off for me with the Pacifism vs. Sacrifice-Some-Save-Many. Vivi on one side, Luffy on the other (and each other gang have their individual philosophies/attitudes of course), and what's interesting about Cobra is that he appears to be on Vivi's side but he's actually on Luffy's side. King Cobra seems to play devil's advocate, E.G.: Guard: "Your Highness, it's only a matter of time before the Rebels strike us! We must strike them first!" King Cobra: "Silence, that's out of the question! Is this a children's fight? They hit us, so we hit them back?" So really, Cobra realizes that even if they fight to protect themselves from the Rebels, then it still goes back to what Luffy said: "What then? Crocodile will still be at large." I like the King's attitude and determination.
  
• CARUE MADE IT! Good job buddy. Now the King is up to speed. |"So what if this Palace gets occupied by the Rebels while we're off fighting Crocodile--a country is its people." There it is. The King knows what he's doing. He gets the big picture. If the palace is invaded, but the King seizes Rainbase and clears things up, then he can just return to the palace and clear things up with Kohze. That's what matters.
  
• Captain Smoker and Tashigi are already at Rainbase! Maybe the gang will end up getting some assistance... But of course Smoker and Luffy just end up in a scuffle with each other again. Smoker is gung-ho on nailing Luffy... I know he noticed something strange about him in Loguetown, how Luffy reminded him uniquely of Gol D. Rogers. Either Smoker is going off that intuition, or Smoker knows something special about Luffy, or Smoker is crazy and merely just has tunnel vision bloodlust for this kid.
  
• Love how hard of a time Zoro has reconciling Tashigi looking/seeming like his old friend. It's like he hasn't properly grieved her death or something in some way. Like it's just impossible for him to face her because of her similarities to his late friend. I'm still really craving a hard emotional moment between those two, clearing things up between each other and eventually mutually respecting each other. Zoro doesn't quite seem like the kind of guy to just express all his feelings, so she'd maybe have to provoke him I think. They're due for a serious swordfight, and that could be the beginning of more of their relationship development, even if it ends with them in bad shape. I just like the potential dynamic they have with each other, still excited to see it progress.
  
• Pyramid Raid. It's all starting to finally crack down now. Great episode.

• Okay, Smoker is all in on chasing Luffy down, and this time he looks like he's gonna be stuck with them since falling into the Pirate Trapdoor on the way to the VIP area. Suspicions are at an all time high of a SmokeLuffy temporary alliance against Crocodile. Poor Chopper stuck behind... And Sanji too, actually.
  
• [!] Fuckin' Sea Kryptonite. Smoker is a total jerk using his mineral-tipped stick on Luffy. I love how the handicap of Devil's Fruit isn't just as simple as "you can't swim," but rather this opens the door that it's as nuanced as, "you're weak against the energy of the sea." It's awesome there's a mineral that captures its essence. ----- While the lore could be more fleshed out and pertinent than it has been so far, I do enjoy it when it happens. Recent memory is also of the ruins (if that wasn't part of the filler), and the Dance Powder. I liked the filler-lore of the furry dragons and the Lost Island, too. And I think there's been another supernatural element someone has utilized before to enhance their weapon, but I'm a bit hazy on that. And of course there's the Devil's Fruit itself, which I'm still super intrigued about. I want to know the range of their abilities, and especially see where that shit grows! I want to see the gang stumble upon some deep in the sea, and one of the gang has an opportunity to eat it and get abilities. But not necessarily anytime soon.
  
• [!] Cool world building with how Smoker says that (his) prisons are made out of that mineral material so Devil's Fruit users can't use their abilities to escape. That's smart, and it's great to see Oda going that far, because sometimes I don't expect that amount of depth, but then Oda will surprise me by throwing it in there.
  
• Oh shit! Tori Tori Fruit, also known as the Duke Nukem Falcon Fruit! He is a giant falcon with fucking gatling guns! We're getting some prompt help from the Kingdom! Which is great, considering half of the gang ran straight into a trap. We also still got Sanji and Chopper on the way to act as vital monkey wrenches at some point here soon, so there's that too.
  
• Mode: Falcon, granting one of 5 flying abilities known in the world. Woah. So I assume he's stuck to one mode, "Falcon." Considering he's toast now, I assume he couldn't engage in other Modes. Perhaps the other "Modes" are tied to the other flying abilities? What are the other 4 Flying Abilities?? Can't wait to see if it ever touches more on that later in the series. I'm left hanging with lingering mystery... I love it.
  
• [!] Hana Hana Fruit... oh fuck...well, holy shit.
  
• Fakeout on Vivi's death. I knew Crocodile wanted her, so she couldn't die, but for a moment I was still like, "damn, might as well incapacitate her so she's not an obstacle I guess... by putting a hole through her stomach, alright." But Miss All Sunday just wanted to provoke poor, poor Pell (RIP).
  
• And Crocodile's Fruit is called the Suna Suna Fruit. I thought he was making people wither, but he's mainly turning people into sand (still basically withering people away it seems)? Doesn't he also evaporate their blood too, or something? Either way... yikes.

• 107 | Operation Utopia Commences! The Wave of Rebellion Begins to Move

• Yeah, I think that Kohze had some ego involved in his Rebellion. He was partly selfish in that just because he couldn't stand to see his land dry up, he was willing to take water from elsewhere by gambling on conspiracy. But it's nice to see that he's clearly uneasy. He seems dead-set on his plans, but at the same time, he seems to be beating himself up in some way. Or just sad about the situation and for what he feels like he needs to do about it. But now, he's completely fooled, beyond a doubt. He really seems to have more logic on his side after Mr. 2's succession of his role in Operation Utopia. So of course he's all in now on attacking the Palace.
  
• King is gone. Cobra seems awfully expendable... if not now, sooner or later... just for the ultimate middle finger to poor Vivi. I can see the sad possibility. I still need to get a feel for how easily this show "disposes" characters. I'm thinking not much. But I'm thinking that even if it doesn't really do that much, then it'll make it more intense when it does.
  
• I had honestly not even considered Mr. 2's copy ability... Fuck me I'm like, "what is the King's plan here??? I thought I had him figured out, this is over my head!" When Mr. 2 visits visits Kohze to initiate the war, disguised as Cobra. I should've known better! Oda got me!
  
• Got a bit heavy with Vivi desperately trying to escape Rainbase to save the damn world, and you could just see Luffy absorbing all of her energy into his rage. Luffy is very empathetic, it's totally settled.
  
• Okay So Crocodile asked, "Do you know why I want this Kingdom so badly?" and the episode ended before an answer came. But guess what unfinished business popped in my head when he said that? The ruins. He implied he wants the land. And if there's anything special about the land, then how about those mysterious ruins? Or whatever those ruins implicate? Full of untold power? Assuming those ruins weren't part of the filler. Otherwise... maybe it's just a good location on the Grand Line for trade or power, or something, and he just wants it cleared out for himself to control? Or I'm thinking too much about it.
  

• 108 | The Fearsome Bananawani and Mr. Prince

• "Hello Vivi... Do you want to play a game? You've always been a sucker for people, Vivi, your whole life you've stood up for others and cared deeply... but the depth of your care for others will be the depth of the water that your caged friends will be under if you don't act fast. These Prehistoric-sized Crocodiles will be lurking, as you must hope to find the crocodile with the key, and retrieve the key from inside the Crocodile to save your friends. Will you choose integrity and risk your life for your friends once more, or will you choose to worry about yourself for once and try to stop Kohze in time? The choice is yours, let the games begin!" -----Fuck Crocodile for making Vivi play his little Saw games.
  
• The sandstorms were artificial! (Poor old dried-up Ossan). I know I suspected it before, but I should have put it all together as soon as it was confirmed that Crocodile had sand abilities. I wasn't thinking big enough to connect that he may be able to use sand to a huge scale, like I remembered how the wind guy back in Loguetown used his at a large scale. I like guessing and figuring stuff out, but I still enjoy getting one pulled over me.
  
• It's nice to see whenever someone is fighting for the Straw Hats for a change. Vivi had a big moment of reciprocation toward them, motivated to save her friends over all else.
  
• Phone call for Crocodile? Nobody else's voice could sound better than Sanji's right now, mocking Crocodile about when he tricked him on the Prehistoric Island with the phone call. The backup help has commenced! Chopper running decoy around the town, while Sanji is inside the casino, meeting up with Vivi.
  
• Miss Doublefinger, Mr. 1-2 are still on their travels. Clearly the gang has to survive the flooding Casino basement, because I feel like they've got to work their way through the Number Agents to even get to Crocodile.
  

• 109 | The Key to Turning the Tide and a Great Escape! Doru Doru Ball!

• I love that Mr. 3 went as far as making a spherical barrier inside the crocodile to survive. And it's also pretty tact that he can shapeshift wax into stuff like keys to unlock the cage they're all inside of.
  
• Luffy is great, they save Smoker and run off, but Luffy stays behind for a second and just cheeses out on Smoker, saying, | "Y'know, I don't hate you!" You know how I know Smoker has some humanity? He blushed in response. What a stubborn goof. Just admit your little Luffy chase is without merit, befriend the Straw Hats, and be a standby ally already dude!
  

• 110 | Merciless Fight to the Death! Luffy vs. Crocodile

• Crocodile making a potentially interesting note about the Devil Fruit. While many people are merely content with its default ability, they can become very powerful if trained further. I guess this was kind of inherently my assumption before, but it's some decent confirmation. Makes me also think about how I think Chopper is the one who discovered there are more transformations you can discover if you hone your skills enough, or think outside of the box (or experiment with medical alchemy).
  
• Yeah okay, Crocodile's Sand sucks up water from the body--got confirmation straight from the horse's mouth. Nice to know further how the mechanics of his abilities work.
  
• Welp... Shit. Luffy just got hooked... Crocodile is savage. Smoker's still around though... I can't imagine any other saving grace. Luffy just can't attack this guy. He needs to utilize something probably. Maybe throwing him in the moat around his casino. Anyway, he's making every other previous enemy look like pussies. And makes a remark about rookies coming to the Grand Line who are all talk. This guy is definitely a step in the right direction for the big league.
  

• 111 | The Miracle Sprint! Alabasta the Animal Land

• Well I was somewhat on the right track as far as the water goes, as it appears to keep Crocodile solid. That's the key.
  
• [!] Oooohh shit! Not only did Miss All Sunday just save Luffy from the sand... implying that she may have some reason to keep him alive, which is mysterious. BUT she also referred to him as "people named D." So that subplot definitely just progressed into something pretty substantial now. It's even more intriguing knowing that other people in the world know about it, aside from the witch, but apparently it's not many (or as far as they've revealed--maybe there are a ton of big league pirates who all know about it?). I can't wait for Luffy to find out more and see his reaction to being a part of this mystery that he doesn't seem to know about.
  
• | "Mah, mah, Maaahhh," Our curly haired friend is alive in addition to Pell! I should start not thinking that so many people die. Especially the good guys. They usually pull through even if they get rocked to an apparent death.
  
• You know, when the Dugongs save the gang in the ocean while they're crossing it trying to get to the Palace, it's kind of like it's Luffy there saving them. He befriended the Dugongs earlier on as his comrades, as that's in their nature, and I wouldn't be surprised if they recognized and remembered the Straw Hats as Luffy's allies and saved them under the goal of "teamwork." All because of Luffy being Luffy in the past. Karma.
  
• Looks like the big fight is actually gonna be at the Palace where everybody will come to collide. So, NOW I think it's safe to say that the real battling will commence now. There are 2 million people estimated to be attacking the Palace... can someone put that into proper perspective for me?? Like holy shit.
  

• 112 | Rebel Army vs. Royal Army! The Battle will be in Alubarna!

1. The gang is on super spot billed ducks, all hooded to look the same, splitting up by pairs entering three sides of Alubarna. Even further, they dressed up Eyelashes, and so Vivi is totally isolated safely.
   
2. Baroque Works' Millions/Billions working for the Royal Army for saboutage, shooting near Vivi to create a dust of sand so she can't stop the Rebels. More good strategy.
   
3. Double Mark (symbol underneath the white cloth they wrap around their arms). Great foresight by the gang, that was a great flashback. More good strategy.
   

• ----- So with all that said, I'd love to see depth like this go the full 9 yards in the future, whenever Oda thinks of strategy even more complicated than that. But then again, part of One Piece's charm is in its balance of simplicity/depth. It doesn't go as far as HunterxHunter tactics/strategy goes, but it isn't as emotionally shallow as Dragon Ball. It strikes its own flavor and just makes sure that it tastes right for what it is. That said, that seems to me so far to be one decent attempt at explaining One Piece, based on my impression: a cross between Dragon Ball and HxH. I love the emotions/strategy in DB for what they were, sometimes it surprised me with some powerful stuff, but it was mostly super simple and on the surface it seems one-dimensional (I say this as a huge DB/Z fan). I think One Piece does the emotion/characters a step deeper, which may not be saying a whole lot, but I enjoy it. And it may not be as complicated as HxH, or even JoJo for that matter, but it's not completely devoid of their qualities for strategy/tactics as well. And it may not try to, like I said, Oda makes his own balance for OP, and does a good job displaying what it does. Or, maybe Oda will keep trying to top himself with contextual depth/strategy and get a little crazy with some future arcs, that'd be cool too, but it is what it is.
  
• The earth was trembling from such a large force (2mil) running at large toward the Palace. This is an element I feel like is missed in probably every depiction of war I've ever seen. What an incredible detail, totally unexpected and well received. (Charging on camels, no less! Is this a thing??? haha)
  
• [!] Great tension with Vivi failing to stop the initial bulk of the forces engaging, after that entire journey, she didn't stop it, and there's a great moment of her realizing Carue protected her from the stampede of camels, looking back at the two sides finally engaging, spelling out apparent defeat for her journey. But her optimism pulls through based on her development with the Straw Hats, and she's gonna try to do whatever she can anyway.
  
• And of course "Usopp" comes horseback to her "rescue"--I'd ask, "how'd he get away from the number agents?" but I've learned that Usopp's ability to run away is inhuman. However--I was fooled again! I didn't consider Mr. 2's copying ability! Fuck me I'm underestimating the full extent at play here, haha. But I've said before, I love getting caught off guard, it makes for some great "oh shit!" moments.
  

• 113 | Alubarna is Crying! Fierce Fight of Captain Carue!

• After Carue takes off with Vivi toward the Palace, Mr. 2 uses his Swan Dash move to chase her, instead of using the horse he used to get to Vivi in the first place. Funny in general, hilarious if intended.
  
• Prevalence of the war and its scale is suspenseful--as soon as Vivi gets up the cliff, she's immediately surrounding by the fighting.
  
• Carue is a saint. Carue's mortality getting ambiguous, and his ability to soldier on by running up the cliff and flying, later taking a bullet while running Vivi to the Palace further, with Vivi's memories of growing up with Carue, took me by surprise at how powerful it was (Sarah McLachlan Effect). And it all ends up resulting in a situation of Vivi encountering Sanji, so it wasn't in vain either.
  
• [?] Gotta say, the Japanese voice actor for Mr. 2 is both fucking hilarious and very well performed. Really curious what Manga readers thought about his voice, was it what you expected, did it impress you guys?
  
• Fuckin' Mogu Mogu Fruit. Can I comment on Miss MerryChristmas' name? I really hope it doesn't have a meaning, and is just meant to be an absurdly silly name, in which case, it does its job, and it's kinda funny. It's such a blatantly ridiculous name, like it's making fun of anime that's serious about wacky names. Or it's trying to just use it for world-building, like that's just the kind of universe they live in, giving it its style (reminds me of the kind of name someone might have in Dragon Ball). Or both.
  
• [!] A gun that ate the Inu Inu Fruit. Holy shit, the world just got a lot bigger. A new technique from the Grand Line where objects can eat Devil's Fruit... welcome to enchanted items! And that's on top of vanilla chemicals in the universe that already have supernatural elements, like the mineral that's Kryptonite to Devil's Fruit users by containing the energy of the sea. So, I'm thinking there has to be someone who has made a sword of that mineral, and maybe even fed it a Devil Fruit in addition just so that it can have ridiculously OP characteristics. Maybe the paper Ace gave Luffy isn't some "entry ticket" like I thought, maybe it has powers from it having eaten a Devil Fruit? Either way, this one expansion of lore ticked off all kinds of boxes for me. I'm hyped about this my dudes! I was unsettled by the Human Fruit, but damn, a gun becoming sentient is almost more disturbing.
  
• Usopp straight up BAILS on Chopper as soon as Miss MC goes underground! Oh my god! He doesn't change! It's hilarious.

• Love when Chopper utilizes multiple of his forms. At some point I wanna see where he pulls all of his forms right after the other in one crazy fell swoop to do something badass. I think he might've done this in his big battle back on his island.
  
• Usopp to the rescue... he doesn't change here, either!
  
• Brain Point Scope. I don't think we've seen Chopper pull that one before. Some sort of psychic hijack? He can also find their weakness, but he might've done that one before. Still getting used to Chopper fighting, and honestly still enjoying even the older members whipping out new attacks out of nowhere on occasion, still.
  
• Vivi always has intense moments of her persevering. Flashbacks of the Straw Hats encouragement and insights, or fears of Crocodile. They always keep her going. She was fine at first, but she's really great. You know if the King pulls through and maintains the Kingdom with his Guard, then Vivi has a possible shot to go with the Straw Hats after this all blows over. Or she'll stay with Kohze and live happily ever after, because I'm not sure what her "goal" would be if joining the Straw Hats.

• | Usopp: "There comes a time when a man won't run away from battle, like when his Nakama are made fun of." Usopp having a big moment. All this running away/coming to the rescue was begging a little response from him to address it again. When it comes down to insulting his nakama, he's in it to the end. And he's taking the biggest beating yet, absolutely covered in blood head-to-toe with whiteout eyes, temporarily broken teeth, and a squaggly nose, after taking the baseball bat to the noggin.
  
• Horn Point! I feel like Chopper has used this before and I just totally forgot about it. Maybe back on Drum Island. If he has then it's been rare, this form is just a beast.
  
• Usopp using Miss MC to get a closeup shot on Mr. 4, then pull off a switcharoo with the Chopper assist. Then Usopp using Chopper's antlers for a full power hammer swing. A good battle overall.
  
• Kohze deciding to risk his life by making a run to the Courtyard, trying to make the King surrender, instead of waiting on more troops to assemble for him from the other cities. | "They won't make it in time!" I think he wants to try and save some lives, which is awesome. If this all gets cleared up before Crocodile dies, then ol Croc' is gonna have the entire land against him.
  
• [?] Sanji and Mr. 2's fight continues to be hilarious. The legwork is absurd! And the name's of Sanji's attacks... it's great. I might've mentioned this before but this series kind of reminds me of Monkey Island in some ways, and Dragon Quest in other ways, and I don't even know what other good things. What do you guys relate One Piece to?
  
• Chaka seeing Cobra's image within Vivi was a good moment, swallowing his paranoia and allowing her to destroy the Palace. I haven't seen Crocodile in a while though... I'm waiting for him to fuck up anything good that's gonna happen next.

• Supa Supa Fruit. Zoro has met his adversary with Mr. 1 here. Just like Sanji and Mr. 2 are kind of equally matched so far, this should also be really good. Incredible opportunity to discover more of his blade's abilities.
  
• Oh my god... the delayed kinetic energy in the final clash between Sanji/Mr. 2. That was hilarious. He starts writhing dramatically in pain and then goes flying.
  
• I love how, even after setting the plan to blow up the Palace, for every moment Vivi hesitates and prides herself on recollecting nostalgic memories of her childhood growing up at the Palace, there are people dying in battle lol. I woulda liked to see her haul ass and not hesitate at all. Like the Guard are all holding the torches, ready to light the gunpowder, just staring at her debate herself out loud. But better late than never--Vivi of course settles on the order to ignite... what a big sacrifice, but it's not even a question when it comes to a bunch of lives, especially innocent ones.
  
• Perfect moment for Crocodile to return. Right when they're on the verge of stopping the Rebellion again. This arc is frustratingly good. But you know, Luffy has to come back too, at some point, as well. So we have an epic save ready to come in at any point.
  
• You know when I said Vivi doesn't seem to have a role to play if she were to join the Straw Hats, and so she doesn't seem like she may ultimately team up with them in the end? I was thinking, after this is all over, if we find out that she can play an instrument...
